Feather Placemat

Here is a festive idea for a feather placemat. This idea is super cute and would be great for birthday parties, bridal showers, weddings, baby showers… you get the idea. You can also choose your own combination of metallic or regular poster board, and feathers. This example uses silver metallic posterboard and natural guinea feathers.

You will need:

-Mirrored posterboard

-Feathers

-Glue

-Scissors

-Ruler

Start by picking a placemat size, and measure and trim your placemats to the same size. Flip placemat over. Measure about an inch, from the edge of the poster board, towards the middle, mark, and do that on both ends. Glue feathers down, along the line you just drew. Spines of the feathers, toward the line, and the tip of the feather should peak out past the end of the placemat. Let dry, weigh down sides with books or other heavy objects, to keep the ends from curling. Repeat on the rest of your placemats.
